Pepa came into season early this week and after a visit to the vets she is ready for her second and final litter of puppies.

We are planning to cross Pepa next week with a toy poodle so the next puppies will be toy cockapoos which will be born in mid-August and ready to go to their new lovely homes in October.

Watch this space for future news...

It has almost been as year since Pepa had her first litter of puppies and she's ready to be a mum again! Needless to say, the puppies were a big hit and we had so much interest that we thought we'd do it all again. It was really fun and Pepa enjoyed it, so we can't wait to see what the second litter will bring.

This time we are still going to breed cockapoo puppies - Pepa is a cocker spaniel and the sire will be a toy poodle. We're researching this at the moment to find the perfect boyfriend for Pepa. This is a little bit different to last time, as we mated her with a minature poodle so the puppies were around the size of a cocker spaniel. Mating with a toy poodle means that they'll be smaller but still very cute.

We're hoping to mate her early next year, so the puppies would be ready to take home in April/May 2013. We'll of course keep you updated and write further blogs as we find Pepa's new boyfriend and when we get a better idea of dates.

Just an update to confirm that we have found lovely homes for all of our puppies. We feel that we have really matched each puppy to the right owner!!

They are now not only escaping from their whelping box but also their pen. They are being little monkeys and really playful. They are really good with people and children as my little sister and her friends keep visiting to play with them!
PS: The vet saw the Great Escape video and couldn't stop laughing!

Have a look at our video in Youtube. Title says it all.
You can access the video from our cockapoo puppies page! Very funny!

Pepa will start to get some relief now that the pups have started weaning! The pups are not that happy with the change but it has to be done. We have started to prepare their food in mousse so they can lick it. We will then feed them their food as porridge and finally we will feed them the food slightly hydrated. We are feeding them Royal Canin as recommended by our vet.
They have been around children from the moment they were born. We are trying to
get them used to everyday noises, people, etc as the earlier they get used to
them the better. We have started to potty train them and they are not doing too
bad! They all weight around 1.5kg.

Christmas is coming and we've asked Santa for some new scales! Luckily he brought them early and we've continued to weigh the puppies. They are all growing fantastically well and they are now more than double the weight when they were born. Mocha is still the smallest of the litter but Oreo appears to like her food as she's now the heaviest one! We've started worming today - they were all pretty good suprisingly and no tears at bedtime! We'll update you all again after Christmas to see what treats Santa has brought us. Merry Christmas everyone! ps we've added more pictures to the puppy pages. Enjoy!

The puppies are absolutely gorgeous and we're just getting to know their personalities. Pepa is being a fantastic mum for her first time and you hardly ever hear a peep from the little pups. All they are doing at the minute is sleeping and eating and they are supposed to be opening their eyes this week. It hasn't happened yet but I'm sure it won't be long! We can't wait until they are running around getting up to no good! They are all doing really well and getting bigger by the day - they even broke our scales! We're looking forward to our pups first Christmas.

She is 3 today! Happy birthday Pepa! She is having a lovely birthday with her little puppies!

Today we have gone to the vets to make sure all the puppies and Pepa are ok and it's good news. Pepa is well and healthy and so are the puppies, hurray!
Another thing to mention is that fudge is actually a girl...that's right we had 4 girls.
The reason why we thought she was a boy is because we had a quick look when she was born and didn't check again until now...silly mistake!
